Everyone knows Polaroid instant cameras. For intralogistics handling of colour chemistry in film cassette production, Polaroid uses a pneumatic balancer with load cell.
Polaroid cassettes rely on colour-chromatic processes. In Monheim, staff handle and lift colour pouches up to 25 kg. A back-friendly, safe, fast handling system from Best Handling Technology now supports them.
The handling experts mounted an articulated jib crane to the side of a steel platform—such systems are always adapted to customer space and intralogistics needs.
Custom pneumatic balancer with side-mounted crane system
The jib carries a pneumatic balancer with up/down control, integrated load cell, operator unit, display, and pneumatic special gripper with 360° handle and twin gripper buttons. Intralogistics staff lift colour pouches from large cartons and lower them into KLTs, which continue through Polaroid production.
Plastic pouch bags with colour chemistry feed chromatographic processes and later chemistry inside cassettes when cameras develop and print instant photos at the push of a button.
A long path: from manufacturing to retail shelves
Retro instant cameras are trending in the USA and Japan. Before cameras reach online and retail shelves, the journey is long. ezzFLOWpneumatic balancer and ezzLINK crane system from Heuchelheim are part of that path.
