Major order strengthens the company’s position
Heuchelheim (22 October 2020) – Best Handling Technology also felt the impact of the coronavirus pandemic in the third quarter. Yet in that period the handling specialists won a large, important contract from the logistics sector and entered the fourth quarter in a stronger position.
Customisable handling technology
Mid-year, Best Handling Technology won a major order for 32 individual workstations with handling systems. The customer operates in logistics. Best Handling Technology delivered a tailored solution: articulated jib cranes plus H-type crane systems with several bridges covering full work areas, with handling systems mounted on them. Different sizes of very heavy, partly strapped cartons demanded special end effectors. The customer-specific area suction ezzFLOW with integrated vacuum generation and dedicated control unit is the core of the solution. Integrated lasers support fast, safe carton positioning. Special regulating valves minimise compressed air use while maintaining safe handling. Besides intuitive operation, gripper flexibility, and ergonomics, environmental aspects mattered: efficient, safe processes and lower compressed air consumption.
“We are pleased to enter Q4 2020 strongly despite the ongoing crisis. This project showed again that off-the-shelf products cannot solve a customer’s specific problems. In every project phase our expertise and fast response convinced the customer. Together with trials on site we developed and implemented a solution aligned with internal workflows,” says Winfried Kaiser, Managing Director of Best Handling Technology. “The timing of the award, in the middle of the crisis, could hardly have been better. This commitment is path-breaking and opens new perspectives. We are proud that our innovation and plant reliability convinced the customer,” Kaiser adds.
Best Handling Technology therefore looks optimistically to 2021; the broad portfolio means several exciting projects are close to realisation, including forward-looking development in carton handling.
